The purpose of the NAF Management Trainee Program is to attract high potential men and women to civilian careers as Federal NAF employees with the United States Air Force (USAF). These management development programs will groom individuals to handle change, a multitude of challenging situations, and to forge ahead to become the future civilian leadership for the Services Career field.

NAF Food and Beverage Specialist – Two year training program with a starting grade of NF-III and a target grade at completion of program of an NF-IV. Applicants must have a Bachelors degree in restaurant management, club management, food and beverage or related field with a minimum GPA of 2.95. The Food and Beverage Specialists are responsible for working in all aspects of an Air Force food and beverage operation.
NAF Golf Management Specialist - Two year training program with a starting grade of NF-III and a target grade at completion of program of an NF-IV. Applicants must have a Bachelors degree in Professional Golf Management, or related field with a minimum GPA of 2.95. The Golf Management Specialists are responsible for working in all aspects of an Air Force golf operation.
NAF Golf Superintendent Specialist - Two year training program with a starting grade of NF-III and a target grade at completion of program of an NF-IV. Applicants should have a Bachelors degree in Turf Grass Management, or related field with a minimum GPA of 2.95. The Golf Management Superintendents are responsible for working in all aspects of an Air Force golf operation.
NAF Lodging Management Specialist - Two year training program with a starting grade of NF-III and a target grade at completion of program of an NF-IV. Applicants should have a Bachelors degree in Hospitality, Hotel/Restaurant Management or Lodging Management with a minimum GPA of 2.95. The Lodging Management Specialists are responsible for working in all aspects of an Air Force lodging operation.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
The Services Career Program selects NAF MTs for appointments based on the following program requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2.95 GPA in last 60 hours of coursework
- U.S. Citizenship
- Mobility Agreement
- Able to Obtain a Security Clearance

An overall (or cumulative) GPA must include credit hours/quality points earned at institutions previously attended, if they count toward meeting your undergraduate degree requirements. Transcripts must be provided for all schools attended. Satellite campuses must compare you to the entire graduating class or major subdivision of the university (not the satellite campus).
US Citizenship is required: If selected for a position an official birth certificate, passport or Certificate of Naturalization will be required to verify citizenship the day you report for duty.
Mobility is a key to development in this program. If you accept an offer, you will be required to sign a statement agreeing to certain conditions of employment with regard to mobility, training completion, and ability to obtain a security clearance, when needed. You will be required to provide detailed information pertaining to any criminal offenses, convictions, federal debt delinquencies, employment terminations, etc., prior to being hired.
All males born after December 31, 1959 must register with the Selective Service System (SSS) to be employed (subject to certain exemptions) by the Federal government.
